Introducing ALTRD
ALTRD (pronounced altered) is all about Abandoning Lesser Things for Radical Discipleship. Our program is designed as a flexible discipleship and community infrastructure for the modern church—built to scale across individuals and congregations while preserving the depth, relational focus, and scriptural grounding essential to discipleship formation. The platform will personalize growth journeys using AI, provide churches with adaptable content tools, and create a connected experience for leaders, mentors, and members. At its core, ALTRD is not just a digital tool—it’s a digital war room, and a new framework for 21st-century discipleship in a time when many are disconnected, distracted, and spiritually drifting.
OUR CAUSE
What is discipleship?
Discipleship, as defined in the Bible, is a profound commitment to following Jesus Christ completely and intentionally. At its core, discipleship means becoming a dedicated learner and follower of Jesus, who transforms every aspect of one's life to align with His teachings and example.
In Luke 9:23, Jesus reveals three crucial elements of discipleship when he says "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me". Accordingly, true discipleship consists of:
(1) Self-Denial: Surrendering our personal desires and ambition for the cause of Christ;
(2) Daily Commitment: Continuously choosing Christ over self; and
(3) Active Following: Pursuing Christ's path and purpose with action.
The ultimate goal of discipleship is not just personal spiritual growth, but becoming more like Christ and helping others do the same. It's a lifelong journey of surrender, learning, and spiritual multiplication.
returning to the heart of true discipleship
Today, discipleship has too often been misdefined, mischaracterized, or watered down. We've replaced commitment with convenience, and surrender with self-improvement. However, now that we've properly defined discipleship, here is a list of things it is not:
(1) It's not self-help;
(2) It's not leadership development;
(3) It's not being a Christian influencer with tons of followers; and
(4) It's not about the amount Christian content you consume, including the Bible.
A true disciple is measured by how closely they reflect Christ's character and actively advance His Kingdom. Jesus emphasized this in John 15:8: "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
At ALTRD, we believe the time has come for a discipleship revival--a return to the original blueprint laid about by Jesus. We have no interest in superficial spirituality. We're calling people to deep transformation, spiritual maturity, and measurable Kingdom impact.
Discipleship meets the 21st century
Does this mean that we're going to get on wooden ships and sail the seven seas baptizing people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit like our first century forefathers? Of course, not. Throughout history, the Church has always used whatever tools were available to advance the Gospel and make disciples. From letters and printing presses, to radio waves and global broadcasts.
The fact is, we life in a mobile-first world. People carry their phones 24/7. With the right tools and spiritual intent, we can disciple anyone, anywhere, anytime--at a speed and scale never before possible. TIme is short. There's no time to waste on outdated or inefficient discipleship methods. If newer tools can create better disciples, then faithfulness demands innovation.
ALTRD is designed to harness modern technology for eternal impact. To offer a digitally guided discipleship platform that is Spirit-led. To build simple systems that help people surrender, grow, multiply and live on mission like never before. We will wield technology for the glory of God, the building of the Church, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
